services offer parents, family members, and guardians temporary relief from the responsibilities of caring for a family member with disabilities. Families of any adult with a developmental disability and any child with, or at risk for, delayed development or a developmental disability are eligible to receive respite care.
Respite is available on an occasional or a regular basis, or for emergencies. Programs are tailored for each individual. Families decide where and when services will be provided, whether in the client’s home, the provider’s home, or in another location. Services can be provided for an hour, a day, a weekend, or a week.
