Our mission is to provide quality services, public awareness, and integrated community supports for children, adults, and families facing social, emotional, and/or developmental challenges.
RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

Through two integrated programs, Supported Living and Independent Living, Las Cumbres offers adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live as independently as possible while actively participating in community life.
Services aim to improve quality of life through improvements in the following areas:

  • self-sufficiency
  • exposure to a wide variety of life experiences
  • involvement in their community
  • health and safety
  • ability to develop social relationships
  • self-confidence
  • problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

Individuals receive staff assistance at whatever level they need and prefer in keeping with their personal needs, desires, and vision for their future.

Supported Living offers round-the-clock services enabling adults with developmental disabilities to live in a home setting.  The emphasis is on providing a comfortable, safe environment that helps clients life full, productive lives.

Las Cumbres’ 24-hour residential services have been in operation for 24 years and currently support individuals at two residential sites in Los Alamos.  Some individuals in Supported Living have intense behavioral and medical needs and require staff assistance for all daily living skills.  Other individuals are more independent and/or require less assistance.  Supported Living staff are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including holidays.

In Independent Living, Las Cumbres staff provide comprehensive supports to clients living in their own homes or with family members.  These supports also promote enhanced community integration in both one-to-one and group settings.

Currently, the Independent Living program serves individuals in Espanola, Los Alamos, Tierra Amarilla, Chama, and Dulce.  Each client receives between 20 and 150 hours of support per month, with the level of support based on individual need and choice.  Independent Living Program activities cultivate natural supports and generic community resources and services to help adults with disabilities participate in community activities and develop meaningful roles in the community.  In addition to field trips to area events and recreational destinations, Las Cumbres also provides transportation to medical, therapy and other appointments.
