Adult Services
Adult Respite
Adult Respite is a flexible family support service that provides short term, temporary care for adults with or at risk for Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD) that allows families to take a break from daily care giving. Respite care providers assist the individual in activities of daily living, promote the individual’s health and safety, as well as provide opportunities for community integration and involvement and leisure, play and other recreational activities. Families and providers make the decision about where the respite will be provided, which can include:
The individual’s/family’s home
The respite care provider’s home
A community setting of the family’s choice (e.g. community center, swimming pool, park, etc.)
A center based setting
Our respite providers partner with families to create a service plan and respite schedule specific to their circumstances, values and culture.
