The Adult Services division offers intellectually and differently-abled adults in Rio Arriba, Los Alamos, and Northern Santa Fe Counties the opportunity to access competitive integrated employment which enables the person to engage in community life, control personal resources, increase self-sufficiency, and receive services in the community.
The program connects people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities with skills training and paid employment in regular, integrated work settings. Meaningful employment gives individuals a measure of financial independence and fosters their self-confidence and sense of belonging in the community. The employment program offers varying levels of responsibility to match individual abilities and interests.
Each participating adult, working in close concert with staff, develops a service plan to help them achieve their own objectives. In many cases, the program participants work one-on-one with staff to accomplish their goals. In recent years the following businesses have employed Las Cumbres clients:
