- Gabriel Mistral*

Las Cumbres Community Services and the Conjunto Pre K Therapeutic Preschool will host its End of Year Ceremony and Graduation on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, May 24th through the 26th, each morning beginning at 11am. The ceremonies will be held at the Española offices at 404 Hunter Street in Española to congratulate the continuing preschoolers and those going into kindergarten. Family and family friends are invited as well as supporters of the program and all agency early childhood programs.

A welcome will be provided by Delfinia Romero, Conjunto Director, with Guest Speaker Anna Maria Garcia, First Born Officer for LANL Foundation. Conjunto staff Becky Trujillo will make the dedication. Join us for enjoyment and song, and for pot luck lunch following the ceremonies.

Las Cumbres' Conjunto Therapeutic Preschool is one major element of the agency’s integrative early intervention strategy and is the only therapeutic preschool in northern New Mexico. This innovative preschool model equally blends students that are 3 and 4 years old; one third have developmental disabilities or delays; one third have emotional special needs; and one third are considered as developing normally. The program promotes self-esteem, cooperative behaviors, and the constructive expression of feelings, as well as developmental growth in language, cognition, motor, and self-help skills.

*His Name is Today: We are guilty of many errors and many faults, but our worst crime is to neglect the children, our foundation of life. Many of the things we need can wait. The child cannot. With every passing moment, their bones are being formed, their blood is being made, and their senses are being developed. To the child we cannot anser "tomorrow" for his name is today.
