THE LAS CUMBRES STORY
Las Cumbres Community Services: A Legacy of Compassion, A Future of Possibility
For over 50 years, Las Cumbres Community Services has been a pillar of hope and support for individuals and families across Northern New Mexico. What started as a structured program of day services for developmentally disabled adults in Los Alamos has grown into a comprehensive network of services that uplifts thousands each year—from infants to elders, from families facing crisis to individuals seeking healing and empowerment.
At the heart of our mission is a deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and holistic well-being. We believe that everyone deserves access to the resources and care they need to thrive, regardless of background, ability, or circumstance. With a focus on early childhood and family support, behavioral health, and immigrant and refugee services, Las Cumbres has evolved to meet the growing and changing needs of our community.
But we are more than a service provider—we are a lifeline, an advocate, and a partner in transformation. Through culturally responsive programs, trauma-informed care, and intergenerational healing, we work hand-in-hand with individuals and families to break cycles of hardship and build pathways to success. Our bilingual and bicultural staff reflect the communities we serve, ensuring that every individual who walks through our doors is met with understanding, dignity, and support.
From early childhood intervention that nurtures strong beginnings, to mental health services that provide healing, to immigrant and refugee support that fosters belonging—we stand with our community through every stage of life. We collaborate with hospitals, schools, local organizations, and policymakers to create a network of care that extends beyond our walls, making lasting change possible.
As we look toward the future, Las Cumbres remains committed to our mission: to uplift, to empower, and to ensure that no one faces life’s challenges alone. The story of Las Cumbres is not just about the past—it is about the people we serve today and the lives we will continue to transform tomorrow.
