We are grateful for the resources our organization has received throughout the year to maintain all our services and support our staff.
We are, however, continually seeking donations to bring immediate financial relief directly to families. Due to unforeseeable financial challenges throughout the year, many parents and caregivers are unable to consistently afford shelter, food, clothing, and household items. Las Cumbres’ diverse programming reaches immigrant families, new mothers, fathers, grandparents raising grandchildren, preschoolers, and adults who identify as having developmental disabilities, just to name a substantial selection, many of whom are often in need. The majority of these families live at or below poverty level and don't qualify for financial subsidies or existing resources based on limited eligibility criteria.
Thus, Las Cumbres has initiated a “Safety and Stability Flex Fund” to provide financial assistance to vetted parents and caregivers when no other community resource is available. 100% of the Flex Fund will directly assist families to help cover expenses such as:
Car seats, cribs, and diapers
Housing expenses and utility bills
Basic needs and school supplies for newly-arrived immigrant families
Application fees for DACA recipients
Any amount you can give monthly or as a one-time would make a big difference for a family facing a financial challenge.
